Hi, I am doing some family research. Some of my ancestors lived in Buxton Yard in the late 1800's. I have got an old map but can not find where Buxton Yard was. Does anyone know.I would think it would be near the railways in Holbeck, Hunslet, New Wortley areas. If anyone knows of any nearby streets or major intersections, it would be appreciated. The family in question is the Haighs's they worked on the Railways and also went to India to work on the Railways there....

Buxton Yard was in Hunslet on or just off Whitehouse Street which you can find on Google Maps.I have attached the 1908 Directory for Buxton Yard, it must have been small as only 1 dwelling is listed Press the red x or submit query

Thanks for that!I've found it now by googling Whitehouse Street. Map shown in 'Hunslet remembered' website. It is surrounded by Crampton Buildings, Grove Place, Sweden Terrace, Cross Sardinia Street. No wonder I couldn't find it, the map I have of 1908 ends at Jack Lane. Thanks again...
