hello, my name is howard benson. I am researching woodlesford and its railway station. please see

[email protected] i wld be interested if you know the answers to the following1. i think princes street in woodlesford was changed to church street after 1911.....does anybody know when2. jack and jake gibbs were railway drivers who lived near jospeh st baths in hunslet and worked at hunslet lane goods depot and around rothwell district...they were in their 60s in the late 1960s....does anybody know any more abt them and their relatives?3. please lsee ist of other names on the background section of the websitemany thanks

Looking, it appears that Church Street was extended to incorparate Princess Street on the 1910 map (see next message)Click on the red X or submit query to see the map

1910 Map NB.Princess Street is not on the 1908 map & I can't find it in the 1901 Census Edit- It seems to have been known as Princess or Princes Street. I have now found Princes Street in the 1901 Census The White Hart is listed as been in Princes Street in 1901

Hi Howard,Its so old now is this thread I didnt know if you had already found out some of your questions you asked.I looked for the Gibbs brothers on the census I found them as followsJacob Gibbs born 1874 head Steel Makers Funaceman born DurhamMary Gibbs 1884 at MytonFlorence Anna Gibbs 1906 Annie born 1908Jacob William 1909Thomas Joseph 1910John J (presume Jack) 1913all children born at Hunslet, LeedsLiving at 23 Ashley Street, Hunslet, in 1911Looked at the Woodlesford site. Saw the Flying Scotsmana few times. Also the Mallard and the Queen going past fromher hols in Scotland.I lived next to Armley Train Station and my Dad worked at thattime on the Railway in Leeds so got insider information when theywere coming through Armley to Leeds. regards
