Milkmen pulling those small electric milk floats by a handle at the front.Ringtons Tea man delivering with a horse drawn van and someone shoveling up fresh manure for the garden.Street corner groceries whose delivery boys had special bikes with a small front wheel and a whicker basket above it.Butter patting,cheese cutting,Sausages hung up in the butchers,fish'n'chips in newspaper,keg beer,Double Diamond,Worthington'E',Courage Tavern,2 TV channels,then 3,later 4,now 100's.TV 'Closing down'at the end of the night and the little white dot.Broadsheet newspapers,The Daily Sketch,Today,This is a brilliant thread.I keep getting flash-backs!!!

Being able to drive a car round City Square(legally!).Finding a parking space in town.Seeing a double feature at the cinema.Finding a cinema in town.Telegraph dispatch riders,RAC and AA men riding motorcycles/sidecar and saluting members.Bubble cars,Chopper bikes,rollerskates(with 4 wheels),stilts,pogo sticks,scooters with large sensible wheels,and-Nobody jogging,

Local shops. Shops that closed on a Wednesday afternoon. Shops that didn't open on a Sunday.Fibre-Glass cars for disabled people that you operated with a lever.Electric Milk-floats with a huge 'handle' that they pulled behind them.The milkman delivering orange as well as milk. And small bottles of cream with blue tops. Milkmen.
