If that was him he used to finish his act with soft music playing and he made all the bird sounds at sunset,

Thanks jdbythesea and j.c.d.
I've just found the clip on YouTube that has the sound track of Ronnie singing and whistling 'If I were a blackbird':- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trtxVvyzlrA. Most of his superb whistling is to the end of the just under 3½ minutes video (there may though be an advert video before it starts).

Iced lollies on a wooden stick that when you had eaten it there was a Question on one side and if the answer on the other side of the stick was correct you could have another one. some shops also sold them with the reward of another lolly on the stick.

The site seems quiet at the moment,so one or two more recent things that have
dropped of the radar.
Glue sniffers, used to be a regular site in public in some areas.
Has it become unfashionable with the increase in legal highs or have the sales
restrictions kicked in.
All the Chavs with lots of gold chains around their necks, have they all pawned them
or possibly mugged by more "needy people"
The increase in gold prices and more places buying it,no questions asked
will have tempted a few.
Banks etc.selling PPI
Interest on savings(if you have any).
Staffies on the street, hundreds a few years ago, many now seem to at rescue centres
Empty doctors' waiting rooms.

Yes the 'bling' boom seemed to have peaked about twelve years ago. there were swarms of young men, thick 'goldie' round their scrawny necks and all sporting a couple of stripes in their eyebrows. They vanished overnight....

It may have already been mentioned but if so I could not find it on a search. It seems that police no longer walk around as it seems ages since I last saw one doing that. Doing so they always gave a feeling of assurance. I wonder also if they still have whistles?
