Scott,Villiers(old British bikes)CZ,MZ, Even Suzuki made a 750cc 2 stroke, water cooled, nick named 'The Kettle' and proberbly the best engineered 2 stroke ever, the Yamaha 350 ypvs.Kawasaki and Honda have both dabbled with 2 strokes. It seems they're going the way of the steam engine. Stevie, The only two strokes Honda ever made were motocross machines or NSR 125, 250 and 500 racers, none of which were ever seen (legally) on the road. They were a die-hard 4 stroke company, a policy which has proved to be good for them. All 2 stroke engines are banned in California, for example, as they pollute more.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out, then, Fevlad. Never fancied pig's trotters, mind, although tripe wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Don't mind sweetbreads.

They did! Their Villiers 2 stroke single engine was a German DKW design which we got as war reparations. I had one but it was never a runner!Apparently, the Army offered the VW factory (which they'd got back on it's feet) as some sort of reparation, but the British government turned it down!
