Hi BenG and Unger68. The way PM works on this site is a bit counter-intuitive to anyone used to Email. A sent message remains in the Outbox of the sender until it is read by a recipient. I suppose it acts as a "read receipt" if there is only the one recipient but if there is more than one recipient then the only way of knowing if someone has read it is if they reply or acknowledge receipt in some other way. With Email the message would disappear from the Outbox into Sent very soon after the sender is next online.
