hello..does anyone remember scrumpys club?i am looking to try to find some of my old mates from the 80,s when we used to go in there & i lost touch after moving away in the early 90,sany help at all would be greatly appreciated

Remember it well. It used to be the Central Sould Club and reverted to that before becoming, I think Hi Fi club. It was down the stairs and used to stink of damp. My mum told me it used to be a waxworks in the 40s/50's and it smelt then too.For a 16 year old in the early 80's it was great - cheap, watered down beer, no questions about age, let you in in Jeans and trainers, girls who, er liked a good time, a pool table, TVs showing rocky video's , Terry Kernaghan (who became Terry George) as DJ, Guaranteed at least 3 mass brawls a night, bar staff who nicked and drank your beer...I could go on. I thought all clubs were like that!
