Makes a change to see a pub re-open, albeit under a new name.A lot of a chequered past, closed down because of drug dealing.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Osborne,_1st_Duke_of_Leeds

Are Wetherspoons in charge now? They have a habit of naming pubs after members of the local gentry.

I think its a much better name too. its not an historic pub and 'streets of leeds' was a nonsensical name anyway.

The YEP of November 28 2011 has a report on page 8 titled 'New lease of life for troubled pub in leafy suburb' that is about the opening of The Thomas Osborne. In the report it states "York Brewery is aimimg to give the traditional pub a fresh start - by re-naming it The Thomas Osborne and investing in a major refurbishment". The report states the brewery describes the new pub as "a family-orientated venue with a great range of offers".This is a link to the YEP online report
