Hi lilts I lived two streets away from the Union Inn in Ashley Street.I was too young to drink at that time.I know there was an outsales in Vaux Street that would be the street to the left of the main entrance. This was a very small room about seven or eight feet wide and about ten foot long with small plain wooden counter. At the front entrance were four or five steps up to the front doors. Through the front doors to the left was the snug a room about i would say twenty feet long by about ten foot wide. When you walked through the front doors you were in the lounge this was quite a big room about thirty feet by twenty feet and the bar was on your left. You must remember i am going back over fifty years so you have to allow a bit of leeway but i dont think i am very far out .The reason i know the inside of the pub is because i called in just before they pulled it down for a drink for old times sake but i dont remember what year that have would been.
No matter were i end my days im an Hunslet lad with Hunslet ways.
