Very possibly, I was on Otley golf course early afternoon and a Spitfire and Messerschmitt fly over in formation!! looked like they were heading for Yeadon airport.Guess there must have been some display somewhere?

Thanks Blakey But it was actually by luck I spotted the photo, it's in the main flickr Leeds group, so I couldn't really miss it. But it does answer the question for us nicely about the Lanc being in the area.

http://www.raf.mod.uk/bbmf/displayinfo/jul2011.cfmLooks like it was coming past from Hampsthwaite.I have seen the BBMF over Fairburn a couple of years ago.As the flight is based at Conningsby then i assume that Fairburn would be on its path back to Conningsby.Saw them on Saturday at Southport airshow,as well as the Vulcan.

Thanks for visiting my flickr photostream to see the Lancaster. A really lucky shot that. We heard it before we saw it. Not the Turtle Dove that we had gone to Fairburn to see, but just as exciting!!
