The Landlord in 1970 is mentioned in the comments on this photo in Leodis

The comment reads
"Ron Davies

In the 1970s the landlord of the Scarborough Hotel was Jack Senior. At that time my ex-wife, and her mother, used to have a drink in there on a Friday night after a game of 'Bingo' at the Majestic. Jack reckoned one of the upstairs rooms was haunted !!!. I worked for a while as a barman for Jack and his wife Carol when they took over The Crown Hotel, Tong Road."

So this helps to fill in 1 of the gaps in the record. It is possible, or even probable, that there was more than 1landlord during the 40 year gap.
It used to be said that the statue of the Black Prince had been placed in City Square , near the station, pointing South to tell all the southerners who've just got off the train to b****r off back down south!
