I drove passed the Fairway this morning & it is now fenced off. It is apparently to be demolished. I have heard rumours that a mosque or a nursing home is to be built there. Anyone have any other information?

That's what happens when you transfer ownership of all the pubs from breweries to property companies.Within a generation the only pubs left will be Wacky Warehouses, aimed at providing families with a cook chill menu menu meal and somewhere for the kids to play or true gems like The Victoria, the Scabby Taps and The Grove. Heaven help us all if anything happens to The Grove...

Who knows though, the Fairway plotters may make moreprogress than whoever bought and demolished the Shaftesburywhich now resembles a bomb site !That too was intended to be residential accommodation

I'll have to look and see if it's still there next time I pass.

A nice pint or a couple of stiff brandies could do wonders for the constitution of those who were a bit under the weather.
