I seem to recall there was a lovely little Duttons pub nr the old Readmans store called The Skew Bridge Inn.There was also the Smyths Arms quite near to the Skew.Nobody has mentioned these pubs . I think they both went the way of quite a lot of old boozers when the Ingram Distributor Rd was constructed.

You should have a good wander around Leodis you can just about walk around some of the streets. I managed to string a view of old Whingate together. A bit like Google Street View with scissors, glue and a bit of a squint.

I spent quite a while in Holbeck at a friend's house and I never saw a huge pub community...suppose it was roundabout the time all the public houses started winding down. Sad, really.
