Went around town sunday morning to look at some man holes to go into the tunnels of the city centre but got side tracked as you do on a photo shoot.

Site is on Salem Place nice building on the old Hunslet road it used to go all the way until Tetleys took the road over some years ago

It looks sad sat there all alone!So anyway biggee did you find these man hole's you were looking for?and if so did you get any pics?

Yes i found the man hole to the tunnels one of them is on the corner of lower brigate and boar lane on the side walk it says BT on the man hole, i have the man hole key but how long it would take to lift and get down there, and to have my collar felt is the question yellow jackets and cones?

Not entirely sure where you are with this, but sounds a little like the BT duct from the Station to Corn Excahnge area. EDIT: If it's one of the ones I saw, you might be disapointed biggee - they are simply small chambers. I think the one you are looking for is the one which has been blocked-off for some reason at that end.

I did some electrical work in the Salem Chapel some years back. Fascinating building with all sorts of unexpected things ... including an organ run by a massive old bellows type arrangement powered by a boiler in the basement

Grey Walk also used to lead up to Salem Place but it too was lost to Tetley's as their expansion slowly encroached on the neighbourhood.
