It was The Commercial on Sweet Street that Peter Lorimar owned(i think he might still be their), the late great John Charles was a regular visitor. That reminds me, has anyone got any pic's of The Crystal Palace that used to be on Sweet Street,i would really appreciate any help with this one.

The Waggon and Horses - this is sad - looks like the end of another historic Leeds pub. I've had more than one post-match pint in here - it always seemed to be heaving on match days. I know thats only 20-30 days a year but even so thats 20-30 days that other pubs don't have. Lets hope someone takes it over.Worryingly the Rose and Crown in Armley (again) and the Fox and Newt aren't showing much sign of life, although neither are boarded up as yet...One bit of better news - the Mustard Pot in Chapel Allerton is open again.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

say what you like, but it's the smoking ban....yes cheap booze at supermarkets brought king pub to his knees, but it was the smoking ban that delivered the coup de grace...most non smokers will agree with this thinking, the ones that can't,can offer up no other excuse.a sad end to what is surely the 2nd oldest profession in christandom.......AUF WIEDERSEHEN MEIN HOSTS!

But I don't want to drink and smoke at home in front of the telly every night. So much for freedom of choice. (I guess I could stand at the street corner.....maybe not.)
