Taking into account Cnosni's theory that the Pine Apple was nearer the St Peter's Street junction than the other two proposed sites so far, I think I've found another possible site, marked pink on the above map. 1: The frontage on the map fits the photo if the door on the right is a covered ginnel, and not next door's entrance.2: Crucially, look at the photo of the back door(s) and compare to the map. Two small walls are marked protruding from the "ginnel" entrance - they appear to be there in the pic.3: Except for the toilet (which isn't shown seperately on the map) the buildings at the back on both sides also seem to fit.Any thoughts?

Note one of the parallel walls between two rear doors?

Having said that Si the High Street photo seems to show a door rather than a ginnel entrance to the right (as you look at the pic).Note what appears to be a 3 pane window above the door/ginnel,this 3 pane window appears above the door of the Pineapple and the property to the left (as you look at the pic)

A big thanks for those pics and info Si, they are really interesting and I can now picture where Myrtle St was. My ancestor moved from there to Wingham Terrace and looking at the pic of Wingham, I guess Myrtle must have been pretty bad! Thanks also for the map showing Barkers buildings (thanks Chemimike for cracking that one), I was double interested in that as I spotted another ancestral street (Springfield St) on it too.

While we wait for Si to tell us, I'll have a guess, Parksider - they have decided that the space left after demolition will be ideal for Maypole Dancing - and have realised that it will be easier to erect the pole before the houses are knocked down!Any more suggestions?

How did you guess, Jim? That's exactly what it says on the Leodis caption!

Here's a pic of Myrtle Street, Dee. (From Leodis, where there's loads more.)
