I remember the Peacock, later Image, and now demolished and replaced by housing called Peacock Close (I think.)

Remember The Peacock Sticks ?? - I should say so - had some great nights there myself in the late 50s/early 60s - nearest I get now is a Pensioners' Special at Murgatroyds Fisheries a hundred yards away !! Tempus Fugit and all that eh ??
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

The Peacock did indeed put some good bands on - but I can't remember their names now. A few years earlier, just round the corner, The White Swan used to be a crackin' Thursday with the Dave Lee Sound. Teds, greasers (not 'bikers' then, please) and a healthy Otley contingent. Afterwards down to the Victory chinese for chips & gravy.....
