Eventually the owners must have thought this was a waste of time and so called it the 'Woolpack' meaning they didnt have to change signs over. I cant believe someone cant make a go of this pub. To be fair I can't see it or Esholt being the tourist attraction it once was, when Emerdale was filmed in and around, and Esholt from memory is a rather small village with an ageing population and not directly on a direct route so the drinkdriving laws will have hit it (or rather more widespread compliance with them). I've only been three times. Twice to play cricket and the cricket club had a bar and once while staying at the Hollins Hall (Marriot) on the nearby Bradford-Otley road. But Esholt isn't really that obvious from this through route unless you know its there already.

Not needed now I suppose.

"Any hope for the Rising Sun? "It's 'open' as a second hand furniture shop that's so dark inside it looks like it's closed so they put signs in the windows saying 'WE ARE OPEN'... it looks like something from a dystopian future movie The Costcutter isn;t likely to have a good effect on the area either, we've already got iceland, netto, spa, 7/11 thing where the tile centre used to be and 2 maybe 3 corner shops in a five minute walk.

I see the Tetley name is still there. PS. I had to look dystopian up in a dictionary! My education is seriously lacking!
