Seeing the Raynville pub demolished reminded me of the time that it was refurbished in the early 1980's as a nightclud theme.I went in on the first night and it was packed out and had a number of doormenon duty.It soon wore off and reverted to its normal self. Can anyone remember the name its was called at that time before it was changed back to the name of Raynville?

No it wasn't the Ancestor or even Ancetor! That pub is still there , boarded up at the bottom of Armley Ridge Road.Sorry I dont know the correct answer though.
there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

Your right of course Drapesy. I got mixed up with the 2 pubs. I don't think the Raynville has had another name come to think of it!

I rode past the Yeoman in Gay Lane Otley today and was quite startled to see it covered in scaffolding after so long "dormant."Is there any exciting local news about the place, anyone know please ??
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
