Pubs closing NOW- in our time.

Well thats the kind of reaction I got from from many lol. . . but the old chap who told me was a very nice old man who had all his faculties about him.Im going to ask him again if I see him.I darent mention that he also told me she PLAYED dominoes too.! Its such a shame its now closed though every time I went in it was obvious it needed a lick of paint.From the outside it looks enormous but didnt look it inside. I was also told its was a favourite joint of Chris Moyles the radio one dj. . . maybe he might rescue it?

I like the thought of Twiggy popping into the Woodman. Mind you she says she uses M&S but I've never seen in at least the Briggate branch!

No, it's all gone! Trevor (the previous landlord) held an auction for all the stuff when he closed the pub. Someone somewhere has got a stuffed aligator in their front room!PS Haven't seen any work being carried out at the proposed "Old Cock" (previously the Curlew Cafe/Sugar Street Bistro) on Crossgate, Otley for a while...

Sorry to hear about the White Stag on North St, this was our favourite haunt of the mid 70's when Stoggy, Brian Stogdale, had it. I met my wife of 31years, now sadly deceased, in there in fact. Stoggy liked to give afters, I had my 21st in there and it was left wide open allnight, Stoggy and Sheila just went up to bed, the cleaners came the next morning and the doors were still open. He then took the Spieler, Room at the Top over with Johnny Wilson, then moved on to Caesars in town, the old Beerkellar place round the corner from the Wrens. Anyway things move on as they say, I am in Arizona USA now and everyone mentions how they loved the British Pubs when they were in the UK and do not believe me when I tell them they are sinking fast.
