The Rising Sun didn't have any second hand furniture left in it when I went past it tonight, but there were some lights on upstairs. Don't know if was being cleared.I go past the Abbey quite a bit because Pollard Lane/Newlay Lane is the nearest place for me to get off the canal or to cross the valley from Horsforth to Bramley and Rodley. Never been in because I'm usually on the bike but it always looks busy and I think the new housing development gives it a lot more customers. Actually I suppose I should call in for a quick one some time just to see what it's like. If I was running the place I'd also sell a few basics like bread and milk because the nearest shops are up a very steep hill wherever you're coming from.

I don't think you can really associate Luxury living with Bramley. Even the most imaginative estate agent would struggle with that one

A lady friend of mine took it upon herself to 'salvage' the Lord Cardigan pub sign before it got demolished. She's very proud of it People with my sign! The pub may be gone but the sign lives on in a back garden in Bramley. Everyone who visits has to have a photo taken with it

Drove past The Mulberry on Hunslet Road the other night and it was closed and the dreaded metal shutters are present on the doors and windows. It doesn't seem that long ago that it re-opened as an American themed sports bar, with much Jack Daniels promotion. It's stranded on a main road with very little in the way of a local population,so I suppose it's been up against it for years.
