I always believed that the Station Inn was on the other side of the road to Hollybush farm and had long been demolished Here's the leodis pic from 1912 the caption reads:"28 September 1912 View from Bridge Road towards new bridge. In the centre of the photo, the station inn kept by William Craven. Behind can be seen Kirkstall Brewery building with chimney. To the right is the Bridge Inn Public House." Hollybush farm is clearly there to the Right Hand side - The Station Inn is the building slightly left of centre.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

and here's the 1908 picturedescription from Leodis:"19th February 1908 View of Kirkstall Bridge, a boat is tied up on the River Aire. This is looking to the railway line and the Station Inn can be seen. On the left horizon is the Kirkstall brewery building on Bramley Hill" Compare with 1912 picYou can just see the top of Hollybush farm - but this is not the Station Inn - thats at the extreme left - you can (just) make out the sign. This means that on Liits map 'A' is incorrectly placed - it should be on the building adjoining the top right of the 'L.B.' [letter box] sign on the opposite side of Broad Lane [this stretch of Broad Lane , from the junction to top of hill, used to be called 'Bramley Hill' -a name which seems to have fallen into disuse]

"indeed you're right ,Stutterdog and Drapesy, my mistake" is obviously what you meant to put - the 'and Drapesy' bit fell off somewhere (ps only joking!!)

I had a friend who was a barman in The Peel - it was a decent pub but had strange small pane frosted glass windows facing onto Boar Lane. I think it was, at one time at least, a Webster's pub ??
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
