I've never seen a photo of the Newlands / Happy Brewer when it was a pub. I've only seen the wasteland! I've attempted to source one but I've been unsuccesful. Anyone? There is one of the Little Park on Leodis which is quite interesting, dating from (I think) before the War.On another note, the Swan with Two Necks on Raglan Road has now shut for good... the tiles have also been removed from the roof. I'm led to beleive it's going to become flats.

The Newlands on Hyde Park Road, burned down in the riots, Stoggys later Caspers now demolished and student flats in its place. And the Little Park (above) also on Hyde Park road closed by the cops, now turned into flats. They have - Theres a pic I took of the Little Park on page 3 of this thread and the site of the Newlands (renamed Happy Brewer shortly before its demise ) on page 4 . The search thingy needs oiling then!
Sit thissen dahn an' tell us abaht it.

I put The Newlands, Stoggys, then The Little Park into search clicked on Public Houses and it came back with nothing. Very strange.

Even missing off an 's' if something is posted in the plural will make it fail. Try searches in messages and texts in all threads, more hits (= more reading )

The New Inn, Dewsbury Road - A strange , faded dignity still glows from this building in the late sunshine of an autumn evening.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

If you can post a map pointing this place out I'll take one, it's close to my house.

Let's hope so. Are there any other "new" pubs opening in Leeds, bucking the trend of mass closure? Noticed yesterday that there is an alcohol/music licence application posted on the old Curlew Cafe, so the rumours were true, it seems. Stop press:I've read it will "open 2010" and will be called "The Old Cock," apparently.
