Here's the Scarboro' (or Scarbro' - the hanging sign seems to say one thing the wall signs another) from Leodis. My partner knew the daughter of the last owner at school in Armley - she can't remember their surname though! It was on the corner of Scarborough Street and Armley road

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.

This is what I'd call a classic estate pub, until today I never even knew it was there. Any guesses? If not I'll edit in the name. It's massive. Too big to fit in the frame! What's the one in the last post drapesy? Looks very familiar, but I can't place it.

According to Leodis its the Pheasant Inn in Beeston (junction of Kiln Street/tunis street)Its not what i'd call a classic estate pub - but a classic estate row of shops - there must be dozens in Leeds(Farnley, Belle Isle, Lidgett Lane, Queenswood Drive, top of Butcher Hill, top of Stonegate Road, somewhere in Cookridge, Cranmer Bank (larger than normal) etc etc) - for some reason they often seemed to have a Fish and Chip shop at the left hand facing end. The Hark to Rover does look very like this(except not derelict!) - but I believe this was originally one of these parades of shops that didnt take off and so was turned into a pub. I wonder if this was originally a parade of shops too??

I believe the landlord at the time of closure was Tony Nelson and then I think he took over The George IV.

That estate pub appears very similar to The Monkswood, which I think is still open.Does anyone remember The Crystal Palace on Sweet Street? I don't think it's been mentioned yet.I think it was still open in the mid / late 80's although it was boarded up for a long time before eventually falling prey to the developers bulldozers.
