Bad news for some on the Mr Foley's front. Its owners York Brewery have had a "falling out" with Leeds Brewery. As a result Mr Foley's no longer has a permanent Leeds Brewery Ale on and is probably unlikely to be having them as a guest for at least the near future. The good news for those seeking Leeds beer is the Victoria isn't too far away and the Brewery Taps isn't much further.

The Old Steps on York Place has Leeds Brery beers on all the time but they don'tt do Midnight bell on cask as they don't sell enough of it.They have the pale Ale and leeds best on tap though and bottled Midnight Bell if required.

I mentioned on the Lost Pubs thread that the former Curlew Cafe in Otley (opposite the bus station) is in the middle of rennovation and was rumoured to be opening as a pub. I noticed the other week that a licence application was posted on it's wall. Good news - apparently it's been granted, and the place is to open as a real ale specialist bar. I'll post more news when I hear it.

Since my last visit the Duck 'n' Drake has had a facelift.A slightly elevated stage area, lick of paint here and there and a fascinating mural in the music room, featuring contemporary music legends and head-scratchers from yesteryear.(well I couldn't get 'em all!)

Was in the Brewery Tap last night and was shocked to see Leeds Brewery has turned to the darkside. Admittedly called Leodis but they have started brewing a lager.

They brew it upstairs i believe, not tried it,but i suppose they have to think that real ale drinkers may have mates who are lager drinkers,if they buy their own lager rather than the ones they have on tap then they should make a bigger profit.ill drink a quality lager too,Budvar is my favourite. You know when youve had that!!

It certainly suggested it was brewed upstairs and I suppose there is logic in they might as well brew lager too. Never know it might tempt some into trying the other LB offererings.Prefer Budvar Dark me sen for obvious reasons perhaps
