There are only 10 types of people in the world -those who understand binary, and those that don't.

I think Wetherspoons have missed a trick there, with the new Sainsbury's dead opposite opening in a week or so. Why has it taken so long for Wetherspoons to get their act together? Also noticed The Junction in Pudsey was once again in darkness on Saturday evening...

Not long ago the little statutory notice about planning was still wrapped around a lamp post at the side of the pub - warning of a closing date for objections in October 2006 !!My own thoughts have always been that the Bowling Green is too small for Wetherspoons purposes unless extensions could be made - very difficult in that particular area of the town - so it is pleasing to read that some progress is at least in view. Many of us have urged Wetherspoons to give the pub a "bus service" and/or "Samuel Ledgard" theme and name in view of its location in the town, and the ready availabilty of historic photographs and other archives of all kinds. They have "promised to consider", whatever that really means, so fingers crossed.
There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.

This wonderful pic of the Anchor in Hunslet has just been posted on Leodis. Anyone know when it closed? a poster on Leodis says it was in the late 70,s but IIRC I went in a couple of times around 1983 or 84.

there are 10 types of people in the world. Those that understand ternary, those that don't and those that think this a joke about the binary system.
