i remember as a lad late 70s this was a great place,where the loos are there was a cafe, mini golf ,next to the bowing green,still there but just empty land,larger golf little further up taking up most of the top end of the park.where the loos are the opposite,was the park rangers office,big guy with a big dog,ex policeman,scarey bloketennis courts next to japanese gardens.the swings were were the big rocks are.further down opp the ex servicemans club there used to be a building, got knocked down,vandles again.there was a small stream there once before my time,the little bridge is still there,rumour has it somone drowned in it long time ago so it was filled in.we had some good times there.i got banned once for climing the big willow tree,the parkie caught me,gave me a slap,i didnt do that again.funny how things change.maybe we should go back to the old days.kids might not be as cheeky!
