I've found out some further information.In March 1897 3748 sq yards of the ground (abutting Education Road, near to the Board School) was sold off to Leeds Council to build public baths. This resulted in the Cycling track which had only been laid a few years earlier to be destroyed.A YEP advert in October 1898 for Shops and Cottages on the site of the 'late West Riding Sports ground' and for factories and workshops on the adjoining Cricket field.

tackler7 has written an excellent article about the West Riding FC in the latest edition of Touchlines, the Rugby Memorabilia Society's magazine. Perhaps he might be able to put a link to a copy of the article on this site?
