Recently went back for a wander around some of the areas I used to play as a kid in the 80's, and dont know why i'm surprised but one of them has changed quite dramatically. We used to play in an area which was known locally as the Forge. This was a large (to us kids) hollow area where Whitehall park, Cross, and Court are now (part of the Whitehall Ind Est.) There was access into the forge through a tunnel from Coben Road and inside was a small stream / open sewer with some old building outlines around it. At one side of the forge was the railway line leading over a bridge (which seems to have totally vanished) on Whitehall Road to the Kirkdale estate and Dunlops. Anyone have any memories of this place or know what it was etc.

Any photos here bring any memories back for you?http://www.secretleeds.com/forum/Messag ... 0&#100795I have a feeling you mean the Farnley Fireclay railway bridge that's since been demolished.
My flickr pictures are herehttp://www.flickr.com/photos/phill_dvsn/Because lunacy was the influence for an album. It goes without saying that an album about lunacy will breed a lunatics obsessions with an album - The Dark side of the moon!
