Presumably something to do with the "South Yorkshire Forest" that is proudly signposted as you head down the M1.I was in Sheffield last week - I wouldn't want to live there....

The map resolution is also 8-bit and the trees approximate the Peak District as does the area of the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors.
