Can only see the new photo, I keep gteeing blocked to the old photo! Still, I have my memories. MY grandparents took me there as a small boy. From what I can remember it was bleeding freezing, even in summer. We used to joke that that water was from the big lake up the hill!!

Hi, I remember going to the baths and freezing me bits off. But I seem to recall that it was always sunny and warm, until you got into the water then you could never get warm again!I think the name for an outside pool is "lido" but I never remember the baths at Roundhay being called this.

Hi again, forgot to say, I was always a bit afraid when I was a kid of the overflow channel that ran down from the lake behind the baths near Wetherby Rd. I thought if you walked in it you would get carried away with the flood of water!I never actually saw any water in it at all!

Is this the channel you mean Troll?I never heard the swimming pool referred to as a lido, but funnily enough, the car park there now is referred to as 'lido car park'! Simonm - the link works for me - instead you could just go to the leodis site and search ;'Roundhay Park'maybe your childhood 'joke' was actually true - I understand that water from the lake was used, filtered and chlorinated (and I mean chlorinated!!!)

Cheers Drapesy for the advice. Maybe the water was from the big lake after all!! I also remember it standing empty for many years as well. Even though the water was icelandic, I still remember the fun over the years!!
