On my explores i occasionally go through some woodland to the West of Leeds where strange things are happening.. Large mud monuments are been constructed. I've never seen anybody building them or indeed anyone nearby-But every time i go past they get bigger. So much so they are now reaching mamoth proportions.. A grand piece of engineering the victorians would be proud of.

It's of course a b.m.x track built on an enourmous scale & getting bigger. It must be a labour of love for the local kids. Some of the holes are 8' deep they've dug by hand. You gotta hand it to them for effort. If they can't get one from the council..Then they'll build there own.

Here's a hole under construction.. It must be 3x10' As long as it keeps them out of trouble... I bet they sleep well at night. Anyone who knows where it is will know what i was looking at & yes it's still flooded & getting DEEPER!!

These things will be a mystery for future archeologists - I wonder what elaborate reasons they will come up with for the existence of these strange 21st century earthworks?

Hi PhillIs this over towards Tinshill way? It looks like something in the woods out there that we used to call "the dips" years ago.

The pics don't really give a true picture of the grand scale there j.F... No it's not out Tinshill way... Belief it or not there's a railway tunnel not far from there? Any ideas yet Farnley?

I wonder if the BMX track is stillt here in East End Park? We tried to get the council to build one on Rothwell Pastures 25 years ago but got nowhere. A load of kids (including us at times) built a small one by the disused railway lines from Leadwell Lane in Rtohwell to the Gardeners Pub in Robin Hood. It wasn't as grand as this one though. Good work young men.

Those pictures look strangely familiar Phil...I know where they are, but I'm keeping tight lipped about this one and let other folks have a guess at it.
