Been a self confessed "Giptonite" could any one shed any light on the explaination that Wikipedia offers for the term Corned Beef Island???"Corned Beef Island" - relating to a corned beef robbery that took place in the area during World War II

Just checked with mother(90 on Tuesday).She recalls stolen corned beef-large tins were foundin the static water tanks on Dolly Lane,not aware of the Giptonconnection though.
