Breakwater Passage

Just come across this in the BBC Radio Leeds traffic news regarding A61 traffic probs in the Breakwater Passage area.I have never ever heard of this before,it does not appear to be on any map yet this is what it is known as 'locally'according to reports.It appears in the 62 bus route from St James,between ChapeltownRoadand Meanwood Road.Any clues as to the origin and how long has it been in use ?

The only 'Breakwater' i've heard of in Leeds is something that come up on the 'Gipton beck' thread, I found a pub that used to stand on Benson street near the old mill pond. If you google it you get the 62 bus timetable and some old parking order.Something to do with global warming?

Its the area where North Street meets Meanwood Road and runs between Sheepscar and Claypit Lane

Thank you to everyone who responded.I have to be honest after having lived around the perimeter of the area for most of my life I have never heard of Breakwater Passage.To hear it as a focal point for local traffic news isamazing.If the combined efforts of Secret Leeds contributorshave to resort in the main to history how is this a viablefocal point when you are stuck in traffic on 'THE A61'in 2010 ?Known locally - I don't think so.
