Hi, does anyone know where the name 'Greek Street' comes from? Particularly if there are any links to Greece/Greek origin?Thanks,

I wonder if it has anything to do with printing, Greeking is a printing term. Printers would greek text below a certain size if it could not be reproduced in a certain size font size.

And is there any connection with Soho as in both Soho and Leeds there are Greek Street and an Air Street (note no 'e' in the Leeds one too) in close proximity...

I'm sure the one in Leeds is spelt Aire as in the river Aire.

The london one supposedly takes its name from a greek church originally in the street
