Yes I can gaurantee that the mill pond is still there cos I work in the soap factory that is still there producing soap today.It has reduced in size but it is still large enough for 2 swans live there. There is still the water way there that use to work a water wheel and talking to the oldies that still work there (well turn up anyway) the place has altered a hell of a lot. There is some old pics that the owner has and show them if anyone is interested.

It'd be interesting to see those old photos if you can get them up.I used to live over that way back in the '60's and I remember that waterwheel in place, if there is any stonework left there it will still bear the marks of the wheel's edges.Over the other side of Low Lane almost opposite the road down to the soap factory there is a smallish estate, that used to be a field, and the horses belonged to the owner of a sawmill/joinery place on Batchelor Lane.The nice stone houses on the sloped end of Batchelor Lane fell into disrepair, and were due for demolition, somehow they survived and were repaired - they must we worth a good bit nowadays.

Unfortunately where the wheel was located the area has been changed by modern times.But give me some time and I will post a some of pics might not be this week but definitely tuesday. Watch this space!

If electrical dave reads this I have obtained a excellent DVD of the History of Horsforth. Got pics of Troy Mill, Silk Mill, Brookfoot Mill and loads more.....
