All operated in those days by Barnsley British Co-operative Society with much higher divi than we had in Morley. Barnsley British Co-operative Society at one time operated a fine fleet of coaches on excursion and private hire work - they were in a simple but smart light fawn livery IIRC. Sorry, but the infuriating Co-Op advert,Gud with fud,has just presented itself on our televisions. So annoying, but,I guess, some like it.......Live and let live.

Indeed somme, but it infuriates me - its such an "empty" and bland commercial - and do the customers REALLY study the price tickets thoroughly ?? - I guess not !!

Yes,Blakey....know what you mean.Don't wish to hijack the main thread but I find most adverts on tv extremely annoying.I particularly dislike any with the grating voice of Jane Horrocks(Tesco).High up on the intolerance threshold are Sky,Go Compare,Secret Escapes, adverts for"If you die, will your loved ones be able to cope(uughh)" etc and a whole host of others.People say if you can remember them, they are having the desired effect.....untrue.I simply turn off and switch over immediately or turn the sound off.I must have one of the most used remotes in the land.About the only ones I can abide are the Aldi own brand ones.At least they present a modicum of humour and are informative.

If there are any programmes we want to watch on commercial TV, we tend to record them and fast forward through the ads - or timeshift them by pausing at the start and making a brew / doing something else and then whizzing through the ads as they appear....

There is one commercial at present which I love, and its extremely skilfully done and hilarious with it - the three "spitting images" type puppets are just wonderful and are a spot on observation of real human personalities.    I mean the two old ladies and the naughty old office boy "Earl" in the WONGA LOANS adverts. The two latest ones are fabulous :-Earl arrives back from lunch at lightning speed on a powered kid's scooter - the posh lady says "He'll be on a hoverboard next" to which the maungy cockney lady comments "Well he won't be taking me back to the future !!" Then Earl is studying a long roll of replies from a dating agency, and a huge bunch of flowers appears on miserable Joyce's desk. Posh one says "I think Earl's decided that you're the one for him" to which sour faced Joyce snorts "NO CHARRRNTCE."

A bit off topic this but I thought I'd mention an ad thats been broadcast from Go Compare which features a sneering Stuart Pierce kickin a football at the singing guy with the long twirly mustache. It hits him in the stomach and shows him writhing on the ground inpain. I'm afraid I found it a rather "nasty" advert with what I thought was vicious and gratuatous in its content! don't know what others think.

I'm afraid that I can only regard anything that encourages the singing guy with the long twirly moustache to "Go............and do something else!" as being extremely praiseworthy

I guessed a while back that Go Compare would launch a campaign "against" their own appalling adverts. Even the most deluded of marketroids couldn't possibly have thought that anyone still found them funny so it was obvious they were planning something more than simply discontinuing them.I would find the new adverts better if the team responsible for coming up with the "fat opera guy" concept were the ones being hit with missiles and winded with footballs -- then I might laugh or even give some though to considering the possibility of entertaining the idea of looking at their website. As it is I'll use the competition.
