Unsure where to place this this thread, but here goes. After hearing on the grapevine of some gruesome activities within Leeds, from body parts found in woodland to an untimely demise discovered in a church yard...thought it would make a chilling thread. So if you have your own tales of shock, ore & gore...then feel free to share the word.

Yes i've a tale of a murder i once witnessed as a VERY young lad made even more gruesome by the fact it could have been a Yorkshire ripper attack. It all happened as i was coming home from a day trip to Scarborough, As we passed over the embankment near the parish church i saw out of the window this guy absolutely battering this woman to the floor right at the top of the embankement next to the lineside, It was only the quickest glimpse as the train was on the move & it was getting dark. Oh mam... That mans hitting the lady i remember shouting but by then we had passed. Next day on the news she had indeed been murdered. The police were called but i was obviously to young to tell them anything but at least they could get the time when it happened from the trains arrival. I've often wondered who she was & have been trying to find out for a while when i found the article about her. For some reason there seems to be a conflict of dates. One 1968 & the other is 1970. I can deffinately say it wasn't 1968 as i was only 1yr old then. The murderer was never caught, Allegedly Peter Suttcliffe was quizzed about this attack by Kieth Hellewell the Chief Constable of West Yorkshire police while serving his sentence in prison along with other attacks a few years ago as this murder was on the 'Highely likely Ripper list' His first known attack was the 'stone in the sock' incident in Kieghley in 1969. Sutcliffe has always maintained he's responsible for other murders & will confess all for his movement to an open prison in readiness for an early realise! Fat chance of that so i'll never find out if it was him. Anyway the woman concerned was a 43yr old prostitute called Mary Judge, The article is here & the 1968 date is deffinately wrong http://www.execulink.com/~kbrannen/otherv.htm

Yes i remeber that too! When i worked at the uni in the anatomy department with all the stiffs layed out i was told a favourite student trick was to nab one of the cadiva's, dress it up up & push it around town in a wheel barrow on a pub crawl.

I was a bit apprehensive at first i can say! Mind you the dead never hurt anyone! Blimey under those sheets lies some wierd sites. They chop up & use every bit of them! when they've finished they get buried with a funeral but the proff told me there must be a 100 different bits in the coffin as they all get mixed up!

Yeah I remember that, me and a mate was at the calls as he went by with the barrow, just thought P***heads. Until it turned up on the news.Just like the bits of the woman found along meanwood ridge about 3-5 years ago. She was in the pub we were in the night she dissapeared, we were basically the last people to see her alive.
