A colleague consulted me because her daughter was scared by seeing a group of people in white robes, and with what appeared to be crosses, sacrificing an animal in Middleton Woods last week.
Her daughter was too scared to get close and wondered if it was witches?
I explained that no Pagan would use animal sacrifice, but could have been idiots playing at Satanists, or possibly one of the Voodoo cults.
Anyone else heard of this type of thing going on there?

Re: Middleton Woods voodoo?
Hi long term browser, first time poster. I’m 35 now and originally from Hunslet, as children me and my friends regularly used to play in Middleton woods and the park area. For many years the woods were rumoured to be frequented by what we called devil worshippers. The Bell pits quite often contained the skulls of a sheep’s heads and weird symbols spray painted to the trees surrounding these pits. I havnt been into the Woods for quite a few years now and didn’t realise until reading your post this practise still went on rather strange and quite foreboding to think this still happens and with young children in the area.
