Interesting,hard to tell what it might have been from the description.I happen to be the West Yorkshire representative for the Centre for Fortean Zoology based in Woolsery,Devon .back in the sixties people kept all sorts of stuff as pets as well as our native wildlife.There are also paranormal sightings of strange creatures which can't be real as they disappear,fade away,go through walls etc.I can't make a definite identification though as too little information.
