Redevelopment of the Monk Bridge Viaduct.

The Monk Bridge Viaduct was used by trains to/from Leeds Central Station until that ceased to be used in 1967. The viaduct was later partially demolished and what remained was blocked off. Redevelopment work in the area started in 2019 and shops and bars will occupy the ground spaces. The rail track along the viaduct is being converted into a garden area and part of that has recently opened. To give some idea of what can be seen I have attached these photos I took on March 14 2023. Access to/from the viaduct is by the stairs on the right of the second photo. The third photo is looking from the viaduct towards Whitehall Road.

Thanks chemimike and uncle mick for those links :). If anyone with a mobility problem is going to see the site the lift may not be working as it was out of order when I was there on March 14.
