You can see how scenic the line is. The water way is the mill race goit cut by the Abbey monks in the 12th century.

The low sun picks out the vivid colours of autumn nicely from the comfort of our much smoother riding coach.

The railway has it's own website with a good photo gallery, history with details of the locos & running times herehttp://www.freewebs.com/abbeylightrailway/index.htmWe have a video view of the line taken from the rather bumpy cab of Atlas as she climbs towards the Abbey terminus with a much smoother ride from the comfort of the coach on the way back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIySZqaZa8M

Great thread Phil. It's weird, i'd never seen the railway running before either and as a kid i used to spend an obscene amount of time down by the Abbey but a couple of Sunday's ago me and the wife took the kids out on the bikes and we cycled round the Abbey and down the path at the side of the railway and it was all up and running. Didn't get a chance to go on it though which is a shame as like you said it's very scenic down there.

Great photos, as usual.I've not seen it running either (probably because we've been to the Abbey on a Saturday!).We have walked along the tracks though (and over that bridge!!)
