Thanks fellas. I liked that Csnosi, If your misses had the same footplate ride we did i'm sure she would have gone into early labour mate, I nearly got bounced out of the cab going around that sharp bend I always thought it would run on a Saturday too. The only Saturday it does run is when the Kirkstall festival is on. If you fancy getting some pictures down there Farnley or Croggy just go along & ask for Peter Lowe, I'm sure he'd be more than willing to show you around his pride & joy collection. He's got a youtube video of them building the line in 1976. I liked seeing the old cars & Atlantean bus going along Bridge road. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVmr1bu7PYg

I have heard of Hancock's before. a bit of googling reveals it was a former Cardiff brewery that was taken over by Bass and now the name belongs to Brains. The actual Hancock's brewery closed in 1999. The only "Narrow gauge Inn" I can find any trace of is in the Yosemite National park in the U.S.A.= I doubt thats anything to do with the sign!!!

Well nice one Drapsey. If it's a Cardiff brewery no doubt the pub has links to one of the many narrow gauge slate railways they have down there in Wales. I should have asked Peter about it but eyes are every where looking for nice shots to be had.. I think i'll go down for another look in winter so i'll ask him then if we can't crack it.

Ha... A man who knows his engines of course... Unfortunately 40145 at Man Victoria wasn't me, It's just a nice thrash i found.. I have loads of footage of me on the E.L.R doing the same thing but i don't know how to convert V.H.S tape to my p.c. A class 91 might fly a bit but you just can't get the same thrash mate.. Here's 145 departing Leeds. Pretty nifty acceleration for an old timer i'd say. Turn up the volume & enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMZ6iT9fFbs

Phill - glad you have had many an enjoyable hour from thrashing 145 up the Lancs, I was an early member of the CFPS when we first got her from B.R. and spent many a loving hour working on her, well if truth be known many an hour cursing and swearing at her and using up miles of sticking plaster, tissues and toilet roll on skinned knuckles etc LOL Back to the subject - I have ridden the Abbey light railway a couple of times and really enjoyed browsing this thread and watching the associated videos, so much so I am concidering going down and offering my services as a volunteer, although due to irregular shift patterns I am not always available on a Sunday.Cheers for the piccys guys - great stuff.

Nice one big N. All credit to you with the C.F.P.S work, I spent all my Youth bunking off school chasing them old beasts for every bit of mileage i could before they got withdrawn. I bet you never thought 145 would be back main line years later? It's in fine form now, what an awesome thrash she makes these days The guys work on the Abbey maintenance on Tuesdays and Sundays, I can give you a contact e-mail add if you like or just ask for Peter Lowe when you go down..cheers mate!
