Re: YORKSHIRE RAIL STRATEGY
The latest money wasting huge undertaking by the barmy Government is almot impossible to believe. To improve the Leeds - Manchester train service by upgrading it to "HS3." There are already five trains per hour reaching Manchester in around an hour or less - who, for Pity's sake, needs to get there any quicker ?? A far better solution, at a very tiny fraction of the cost, is obviously to put one or two extra carriages on the trains, so that at least you could travel without standing like packed sardines.

PS - It gets even dafter in this morning's news - Bradford now want HS3 trains to Manchester and unless I'm mistaken that would involve a change of trains as Bradford surely isn't on the Trans Pennine train route is it ??

There's nothing like keeping the past alive - it makes us relieved to reflect that any bad times have gone, and happy to relive all the joyful and fascinating experiences of our own and other folks' earlier days.
