Looking between/over the "modern" anti vandal metalwork, the bridge is suffering a lot of corrosion.

In the interests of research I wandered across this bridge today and have to say it's a bit of a let down.
Approaching it up the hill (it is on the Leeds Country Way), there are the remains of presumably something to do with the original Barnbow works. However the sides of the bridge are clad in some sort modern galvanized steel whilst the deck is a mixture of wooden slats (sleepers?) and chequerboard. You can see nothing of the original bridge when you are actually on it...

The concrete remains are, apparently, the base of the police / guard office cum waiting room. Also, one of the south side decorative pillars [the right hand one] has an OS benchmark on it.
