Help required to identify this Badge / Tally

Post by BillyBritvic »

I have just come into possession of the item in the pic. It comes from a lovely guy who's dad used to work for Sammy Ledgards and who collected transport memorabilia.
I have not come across this specimen before, it measures 2" by 1", can anyone shed any light as to what it is / was / could be?

Can't help with the badge at present Billy, but if I may digress who please was the Ledgard person mentioned - presumably an Armley employee but I just may know the family ??

I have a picture in my mind's eye of these being worn on tram/bus conductors crossbelts that held their moneybag/ticket machines in the dim and distant past. Just a suggestion and I'm probably wrong.
Daft I call it - What's for tea Ma?
