I was just driving up Dewsbury Road towards the Tommy Wass pub and came alongside some roadworks in the middle of the road and noticed the exposed tram lines visible in the dugouts, I couldn't take any pictures because I was driving but it may be worthwhile going back later to take a few snaps before they are all covered up again.

If you travel down Armley road and over the snake bend (over the bridge) onto old Armley road you can see the old track clearly, as the road surface is breaking down, without the use of men and shovels!!

Was driving back into Leeds this evening and noticed the tram tracks too. Couldn't resist parking up and taking a quick picture!!! Just near Barkley Road this is.

Great stuff. It's amazing what's only a few inches under our feet, if we but knew it!I believe the tram tracks are still there under the centre verge of Selby Road on its way up the hill. They were briefly revealed when the bus lanes were put in.

Tram lines are still in Headingley as far as i know, about 10 or 12 years ago they resurfaced Otley road, they stripped off the old surface to reveal not only the tramlines but the original cobbled street surface!!!!! then they just resurfaced the whole lot with fresh tarmac!!

they show through at compton road/stanley road junction now and again due to the heavy traffic and of coarse the ones at oakwood junction only got covered up in the early to mid 80s.the ones up crossgates road are still under the grass too, which makes me wonder if all the others are still under the grass verges? the over head power lines all over leeds were still there, well into the late 70s too.

I'll go for Stanningley Road, more precisely the gap in the reservation at the end of Moorfield Road, as it looks like the bit of rail you can see there. I drive over it quite often, a bumpy ride.
