A long shot I know, but two single engined aircraft flew roughly north - south over the eastern fringes of Leeds mid afternoon. The shape of the wings on one of them me immediately think 'Spitfire' and the snarl of the engine reinforced that idea. Sods law naturally dictates that there was no chance of grabbing the camera in the fleeting moment I had...Did anyone else spot them, or better still know what they were and where they were going?

Two spitfires were in deed over north leeds yesterday, they did a low fly past over leeds bradford airport, en route to or from an airshow somewhere.

I think they were on there way to Grassington for some sort of themed event. They flew over us in Burnsall at about 3pm.

The optimal method was for the chasing aircraft to place it's wing in a position to alter the airflow over the V-1's wing (without touching it) to disrupt the lift, thereby bringing the flying bomb down.

they flew over north stainley ripon on saturday afternoon but only one had the spitfire eliptical wing, thought the other may be a huricane, i was cycling in lincilnshire on sunday and they came over me again, the lancaster is better though especially at just over church tower height at conningsby
