Thanks for the comments on the pics, Glad you like them. Yes i shall be posting some of my stuff on here too. The York road baths are very ornate & it's a terrible shame to see all that Burmantofts tiling going to ruins. I only had a short look around as it's very bleak inside & not the most welcoming of places as it stands. I shall be plucking up the courage for a better look shortly i hope!

There are still the old railway lines that linked the Hunslet Engine Works on Jack Lane to the main network. They run right across the road. You can see here. The Hunslet Engine Company is still making locomotives but they moved to Lowfield Road and have a factory in Kilmarnock.

Yes it's sad to see Leeds locomotive industry vanish. Apparently Hudswell & Hunslet enginerring built more locos than Crewe, Doncaster & Swindon put together

Loinerpete's comments on 21/2/07 about tram system relics were very interesting, but there is one, often mentioned error. This is that there never was a tram terminal at Roundhay Park, apart from a loop on the inbound track near to the main gates on Princes Avenue.Whilst the nearby car park DOES have original tram overhead cable poles installed - the car park was created as a bus terminal in the early fifties - if I remember correctly it was made for the series of military tatoo's that were held in the early fiftiesAnother tram related artefact is the Chapeltown Tram Depot still exists [somewhat added to and changed] on Harrogate Road opposite the Tesco/esso filling station

The tram shed you mention is now part of Technorth Learning Centre's extension and has been gutted and rebuilt inside. It is best visible from Potternewton lane where you can still see the domed roof.

The pedestrian bridge at Cross Gates Railway station is being demolished at the moment. The half over the Leeds bound track has been removed and placed at the bottom of the platform. I would imagine someone will dismantle it and remove the other half soon, so last chance to photograph what appears to be and original footbridge in situ

Hey guys, My dad told me a few motnhs ago about an old railway track that ran from Cross Gates out towards Otley, You can see the course of it on google earth. Anyway, I went to investigate and you can walk do the track for a fair distance before it becomes a farmer's Private bit. anyway, it ran past an old brick factory which has now been demolished and turned into a little park thingy, and the train tracks are gone, but the course is still very clear, and there are some beautiful little lost bits of buildings. I'll get some pics up as soon as I can find them... have a bad habit of forgetting to uppload pics from my cam

It's a pity the old bridge at crossgates is going. It's been abandoned for years. Another piece of railwayana lost. I wonder if it will be put to good use.
