Just to give you a brief news flash...Tram tracks are visible on Roundhay Road and the crossroad/junction with Harehills Lane. It's the park that they have dug up, re-layed but not bother to join it properly together so makes a rather uncomfortable bump when driving over. It seemingly follows the direction of the existing road.

Oh no a blast from the past.Used to love going on the tram to Roundhay Park. That was our days holiday as we couldnt afford to go to the seaside.Is there a cardboard box in't road, someones house poor kids, laugh.

I'm pretty certain I saw some half-buried tram tracks by Coryph Print on Kirkstall Rd when they were digging it up a few weeks ago. Kirkstall Rd inbound is closed from Kirkstall Lane overnight this week for resurfacing so some more may emerge while that goes on.

Talking of tram tracks ... there has been discussions in the past on SL that why not uncover the buried tracks and press them back in to service? This idea was poo-pood as being totally impracticable (which I agreed with), BUT this is exactly what the Blackpool council are now planning on doing, in order to reinstate trams back on to the town's streets.Just doing a bit o stirring!

Would never happen in Leeds.....council clueless on transport issues.All bluster no action.Just one of several reasons Leeds continues to slip down the league table in forward thinking cities.

One of the main reasons that trams were removed was because of the poor state of the track and the expense in re-laying it all. If you look at it when it is uncovered nine times out of ten its all worn out, not to mention rusted beyond belief after 50 plus years underground!
